This week the u9s had a trip up to Quedgeley and Harwicke Festival. This was a very well attended festival with around 14 teams taking part. We were much luckier with the weather than last week with the rain holding off.
We had a squad of 8 and played 3 games. Our captain for this week was Charlie Johnson, so a thank you to him for leading and helping the guide the team.
The first game was against QHCC 1, we were fielding first with Cameron opening the bowling. The team soon picked up from where they left off last week and were playing well together with Charlie, Harry and Cameron taking wickets. There was also some great batting with a number of 4s being scored. Despite a good effort, we lost by 20 runs.
Our second game was against QHCC 2 and again we were fielding first. There was some great organisation in the field with the guys reading the game, watching where the ball was going and covering the field well. They also picked up well on getting as many runs as possible and were running just about everything. Great progress.
QHCC – 55 for 4
Hawkesbury – 22 for 2
The final game was against Cam where we went into bat first. It gave the guys the chance to put into practice what they’d learnt during the day with plenty of running and some great team work fielding. Anna scored a total of 10 which was her best score of the day with Oliver, Hugo and Rowan showing a great improvement in their scores from the first game of the day.
Cam – 124 for 0
Hawkesbury – 55 for 5
Man-of-the-match went to Fraser Clark this week for the amount of progress that he’s made over the last few weeks his bowling has really improved. Great effort Fraser.
Well done everyone the scores don’t reflect how well you all played. The amount of improvement has been brilliant!
