After a fantastic series of pre-season friendlies—culminating in last weekend's sunny clash against Bedminster—the wait is finally over. This Saturday, May 2nd, marks the official start of the 2026 league season for Hawkesbury Cricket Club.
With all three senior teams in action, the club is buzzing with anticipation.
Opening Day Fixtures
All three senior sides begin their league campaigns this Saturday:
The 1st XI kick off their WEPL Gloucestershire campaign at home against Charlton Kings CC. The boys are ready to set the tone for the season on home soil. (Start: 12:00 PM at The John Hawkins Ground)
The 2nd XI travel away to face Poulton CC in GCL Division 6B, looking to secure an early win to jumpstart the season.
The 3rd XI begin life in GCL Division 8D with a home fixture against Painswick 3rd XI. They will be playing at their home venue in Hillesley, and we encourage local supporters to head down and cheer them on!
Match Day Hospitality
While the 1st XI battles it out on the square, we are making sure our home supporters are well looked after:
The Bar: Open throughout the afternoon, serving a full range of cold drinks and refreshments.
The Oak House Kitchen: We are thrilled to partner with The Oak House Kitchen again this season. They will be serving their signature high-quality hot food right here at the ground .
The forecast is looking promising, the grounds are in pristine condition, and the players are ready. League cricket brings a special kind of energy to the village—come and be a part of it!
Here's to a successful season!
