A message from Steve Silk and the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation
In August 2024, the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation (GCF) began work on the production of a recreational game strategy for Gloucestershire, to cover the period 2025-2029. This is a hugely important document as it will give the Foundation clear direction and purpose for the next 4 years. It will ensure that we maximise the additional investment opportunities available to the game and build on the buzz that has been created from recent cricketing successes.
To ensure the strategy includes the thoughts and opinions of our members and key partners, and not just those of the GCF staff and Trustees, an inclusive process of consultation has been undertaken. To date this has included consulting with our Development Groups, Workforce Associations, and Cricketing Committees, and as a consequence we can provide you with a framework that we would now like people from across recreational cricket in Gloucestershire to have an input on.
This final phase of our process is to collect feedback and input from our clubs, players, and wider stakeholders and this is where we would like your support. For the Strategy to be successful and relevant we would like individuals feedback on what they believe to be the priorities for recreational cricket in Gloucestershire.
The survey covers all aspects of recreational cricket under 6 themes. It simply asks you to rank which areas are the most important to you, and why? You will also be able to highlight any further priorities that you believe are missing.
To help make this process as simple and straightforward as possible we have produced an online consultation survey which can be accessed through the following link:

To ensure that we meet necessary deadlines can I please request that you complete the survey by Sunday 9th February. Once the feedback has been collated we will then begin work on the production of ‘Inspiring Gloucestershire 2025-2029’, with an ambition of launching our Strategy in time for the start of the summer season.
Thank you in advance for your time in completing the survey and for your support in shaping the future of cricket in Gloucestershire, as always your support is greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Steve
It would be great if as many of you can complete the survey and give your views
